Course Overview

Wall and Floor Tilers are listed on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL), indicating a high demand for qualified professionals in Australia. If you’re interested in the construction industry, this could be an ideal career path.

Students will learn how to lay a variety of tiles, including ceramic, clay, slate, marble, glass, and more, on both external and internal walls and floors, providing both protective and decorative finishes.

Course Requirements

  1. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  2. This course includes 360 hours of vocational placement.
  3. Academic requirement: Completion of Australian Year 10 or its overseas equivalent.
  4. Proof of English language proficiency is required.

Accepted tests include IELTS, PTE, and similar assessments. For IELTS, a minimum overall score of 6.0 with no band lower than 5.5 is required. The test results must be valid within two years at the time of the visa application. Some educational institutions offer an in-house English Placement Test to meet the entry requirements.

Exemptions apply if:
– The applicant holds a passport from the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, or the Republic of Ireland.
– The applicant is enrolled in a registered school course, a standalone English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS), a course taught in a language other than English, or a registered postgraduate research program.
– The applicant has completed at least five years of study in English in any of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland.
